About pretickt
How the numbers on this site are made · end-of-day data as of Oct 16, 2026
What pretickt is
pretickt publishes end-of-day data on the S&P 500 and Nasdaq-100 companies: why each stock moved, analyst price targets, earnings and dividend dates, quarterly results, insider trades and daily market lists. Every page is rebuilt after each US trading session from the data of that session.
Where the data comes from
Prices, company profiles, analyst price targets and ratings, earnings and dividend calendars, quarterly income and cash-flow statements, SEC Form 4 insider filings, economic calendar dates and news headlines are provided by Financial Modeling Prep.
Before each build, automated checks look for missing, stale or inconsistent data. A build that fails them is not published: the previous one stays online.
The market is SPY
Wherever a page compares a stock with the market, the market is SPY, the SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust, not the S&P 500 index itself. Prices are adjusted for splits and dividends.
How the numbers are computed
- Why it moved: the return over the window is split into the market (SPY), the sector (the equal-weight average of the other tracked companies in the same sector, net of the market) and the part specific to the company. A news spike is a day with at least four stories and at least 2.5 times the stock’s usual daily count.
- Analyst price targets: the average uses the latest target of each firm over the last 12 months. Targets published before a stock split are restated in today’s share basis; targets that cannot be restated are left out.
- P/E: the last close divided by the diluted earnings per share of the last four reported quarters.
- News tone: each headline is scored from −1 (negative) to +1 (positive) by an AI language model. The model returns numbers only; it writes nothing that appears on the site.
- Insider trading: open-market purchases and sales reported on SEC Form 4. Grants, option exercises and other transactions are not counted as buying or selling.
- Earnings dates: upcoming dates are the provider’s estimates until the company confirms them.
- Biggest losers: Stocks that fell the most in the last session.
- Biggest gainers: Stocks that rose the most in the last session.
- 52-week lows: Closing within 2% of their lowest price of the past year.
- 52-week highs: Closing within 2% of their highest price of the past year.
- Undervalued: P/E below the sector median and an average analyst target at least 15% above the price.
- Insider buying: Net open-market insider buying over the last 90 days (SEC Form 4).
- Most active: Ranked by dollar volume traded in the last session.
- Largest: Ranked by market capitalization.
